Fair Trade Mixed Chocolate Batik Box - 24

Each fair trade box is handmade by Javanese craftspeople using offcuts of batik material from saris, so each one has its own completely unique and beautiful design. Inside you will find 24 of the finest mixed chocolate gourmet organic truffles, made using the very best ingredients, including organic fair trade cocoa. The boxes are lined with luxurious padding, so when all the chocolates are gone, the box can be kept and used as a jewellery or trinket box.

All of the chocolates in these boxes are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians.

Contains approximately 336g of chocolates and the fair trade batik box measures 12cm x 17cm x 4cm.

This product is made by a group of women in one village in Java and supports a number of families.

Our supplier of the fair trade batik boxes has a direct trading policy and is a member of BAFTS. They have built up relationships with all their craftsmen and women over a number of years and ensure that they receive a fair price for their products. They often pay money to them in advance so that they can pay for the materials they need to make the product and still have money to support their families.

The organic cocoa used in the production of these chocolate truffles is purchased directly from co-operatives plantations in The Dominican Republic and Peru. This ensures that the farmers get a price significantly above the open market and indeed some way above the price of Fairtrade branded cocoa.
