Fair Trade Batik Chocolate Box - 4

A beautiful fair trade batik box filled with delicious gourmet chocolate truffles made with organic ingredients. The box is padded and fully lined to give a luxurious finish. Inside the fair trade box you will find four quality chocolate truffles that are made using gourmet organic and fair trade cocoa.

The beautiful fair trade box is made in Java and makes an excellent jewellery or trinket box once the chocolates have been eaten. Each fair trade box is individually hand crafted and finished in material recovered from recycled saris and offcuts thus ensuring that each box is given a unique and varied Batik design. A wonderful, high-quality fair trade gift to give or receive.

All of the chocolates in these boxes are gluten free and suitable for vegetarians. The dark chocolate are also dairy free and suitable for vegans, although they are made in a factory that handles dairy ingredients. Contains approximately 56g of chocolates.

Each Batik chocolate box measures approximately 8cm x 8cm x 4cm.

NOTE: Unless stated otherwise, this product may be manufactured in factories that handle nuts, cereal, soya and dairy ingredients.

This product is made by a group of women in one village in Java and supports a number of families.

Our supplier of the fair trade batik boxes has a direct trading policy and is a member of BAFTS. They have built up relationships with all their craftsmen and women over a number of years and ensure that they receive a fair price for their products. They often pay money to them in advance so that they can pay for the materials they need to make the product and still have money to support their families.

The organic cocoa used in the production of these chocolate truffles is purchased directly from co-operatives plantations in The Dominican Republic and Peru. This ensures that the farmers get a price significantly above the open market and indeed some way above the price of Fairtrade branded cocoa.
